Red Handflare: For use day or night the Pains Wessex MK8 red handflare is a short-range distress signal used to pinpoint position during day or night. It burns with a light intensity of 15,000 candela for a duration of 60 seconds. May be carried on the ship’s bridge and is a requirement in ship’s lifeboats and liferafts. The handflare is suitable for use on other commercial and recreational boats.
Para Red Rocket: A day or night long-range distress signal, suitable for use in recreational boats. Conforms to SOLAS 74/88 as amended. Designed to withstand exceptional environmental exposure and to perform reliably even after immersion in water, the pull wire ignitor and improved grip provides easy handling. Ejecting a red flare on a parachute at 300m (1000ft), burning for 40 seconds at 30,000 candela.
